Tribute Trees

Perhaps the most lasting legacy we can leave when we die is a gift to our environment.

That’s why we created our unique Tribute Trees Program, which provides client families with a living memorial that also helps restore our native forests.

Tribute Trees has been developed in conjunction with Greening Australia and Parks Victoria, and is a truly unique way to remember a loved one.

There is no additional cost to participate in the program, and families are able to participate in the planting process at one of the two planting days we hold each year, or visit the site at any other time.

Our next planting ceremony will take place on Sunday, 24 October, 2010 at 12.30 p.m. Following the short dedication ceremony you will be welcome to assist Greening Australia Volunteers to plant the Tribute Trees and to use the excellent picnic facilities nearby. We will supply tea, coffee and cordial for the children.

Transportation

The forest planting area within the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is a comfortable two hour drive from Melbourne (Melways Reference: Map 912, U2).

However, should you be unable to make your own way to Upper Yarra Reservoir Park, complimentary bus services will depart from three Tobin Brothers Funeral facilities.  Should you choose to travel on any of the buses, it is imperative that you book a seat, the Details are as follows:

From Tobin Brothers, Ringwood

• A bus will depart Tobin Brothers Ringwood facility at 331 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood at 9.45 a.m.
• Anticipated arrival at Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is 11.45 a.m.
• The bus will depart the Park at 3.00 p.m. for the return trip.
• Anticipated arrival at Ringwood is 5.00 p.m.

From Tobin Brothers, Mt Martha

• A bus will depart Tobin Brothers Mt Martha facility at 604 Esplanade at 9.00 a.m.
• Anticipated arrival at Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is 11.45 a.m.
• The bus will depart the Park at 3.00 p.m. for the return trip.
• Anticipated arrival at Mt Martha is 5.45 p.m.

From Abbey Funerals, Thomastown

• A bus will depart Abbey Funerals facility at 238 Settlement Road, Thomastown at 9.00 a.m.
• Anticipated arrival at Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is 11.45 a.m.
• The bus will depart the Park at 3.00 p.m. for the return trip.
• Anticipated arrival at Thomastown is 5.00 p.m. 

From Tobin Brothers, St Albans

• A bus will depart Tobin Brothers St Albans facility at 364 Main Road West, St Albans at 9.00 a.m.
